You see, for a number of years I was convinced that my central heating and cooling system had plenty of life left in it. The air conditioner was only about 10 years old and the furnace has been in operation for about 15. After doing research online, I saw that some HVAC equipment lasts as long as 20 years. I was convinced that I could keep my central heating and cooling system chugging along for an equal amount of time. Every time there was some kind of indoor air quality issue, I called out the local heating and cooling repair shop to get professional help with the HVAC concern. My emergency repair expenses were not insignificant. Every time I had to call out a professional HVAC technician I knew I was kissing several hundred dollars goodbye. Unfortunately, it took several years for me to realize that my patchwork HVAC system was never going to work like I wanted it to. No matter how many professional diagnostics and repair parts were put into the air quality control equipment, my air conditioner and furnace had given up years ago. I finally paid for an HVAC upgrade… And I can’t believe that it took me this long. I could have saved a lot of time and money if I had forfeited back in the day.
