Prioritizing home security

Automation systems provide an extensive list of benefits.

By bundling the controls of smart appliances and systems into a single interface, control is simplified.

There are significant opportunities to save time, money and energy. Better management of equipment supports more conscientious maintenance and superior efficiency and reliability. The programming of everything from lights to the coffeemaker and thermostat elevate conveniences. Upgrading to an automation system made a huge difference to how I operate my home. My main priority in researching, choosing and investing into smart automation was to increase security. We were able to afford our size of property and square footage of residence because of the location. While the areas around us are affluent, our neighborhood is up-and-coming. We are situated right on the cusp of where there are some concerns with safety. I was nervous about coming home after work to an empty house. I never felt comfortable alone in the house. My husband and I worried about vandalism, theft and break-ins. We often hear police, fire and ambulance sirens close by. As part of the automation package, we implemented a state-of-the-art security system that has provided peace of mind. The home is now equipped with sensors on every window and exterior door. If someone attempts to force the lock, open a window or breaks the glass, an extremely louds alarm sounds. My husband and I are immediately notified and the local authorities are dispatched. We also have the ability to lock and unlock doors through an app on our phones. Security cameras provide real time images of every angle of the property, and we get notified if anyone enters the property. We’re able to see and converse with someone standing on our front porch, even if we aren’t at home.
