Preparing for Thanksgiving

I can’t recognize how late in the year it is already.

I feel like it was just December two weeks ago, and now we are basically at the end of 2019.

I have no idea where the time went or how it was spent. I feel like I’ve been working consistently all year long, but I do not have all that much to show for it. Now, it’s time to beginning thinking and planning on my goals for next year. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around all of this necessary planning. I can barely even consider the many activities that I need to accomplish before the Thanksgiving holiday rolls around. This year, I am hosting the giant family holiday for all the people. I’m kind of excited, but I’m also extremely overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done. Not only do I have to worry about the grocery shopping, the cooking, and all of the cleaning, but there are always additional tasks that get overlooked until the last minute. This year, I am not forgetting about servicing the HVAC system before anyone arrives at my home. In the past, I’ve been burned by forgetting about the heating and cooling equipment, and or, I should say, we have all been frozen due to my HVAC negligence. One year, my furnace completely failed as I was preparing the turkey for the giant morning. The bedroom was so warm, I did not even notice that the furnace had stopped operating! For many hours, the rest of the condo got colder and colder while I happily worked away. By the time the guests arrived, the rest of the condo was 60°, everyone complained throughout the long, giant feast that I prepared. After that failed holiday, I will never forget to service the heater again.
