Vacations are few and far between with our family, so when we do get to go on a family vacation, we go all out.
The reason we cannot go on vacation once a year is because of my husband’s business.
The only nice thing about this is that because we do not get a vacation once a year when we do get vacation time, it is usually for at least three weeks. My husband and I still have two children at home, and they love to come on vacations with us. We actually just returned from our first vacation in three years. We were away for four and a half weeks. It was the best vacation yet. We did face some air conditioning challenges on the way there though. We took our large, fifteen passenger van in order to fit the four of us as wells as all of our stuff for over a months stay. The air conditioning in the van did great for the drive on the way there, but the second day of vacation the air conditioning in the van stopped working. My husband tried charging it, but he found a leak in the line, so it was no use. We thought about taking the van to a mechanic and having the air conditioning line replaced, but it would have been more expensive than what we decided to do and that was rent a vehicle. We rented a vehicle for the first three weeks, and my husband and son worked to replace the air conditioning line themselves which was hundreds of dollars cheaper than taking it to a mechanic. In the end, my husband and son fixed the air conditioning in our van for our final week of vacation, and we saved a lot of money.
