There are a lot of benefits to renting an house rather than owning a home.
- For starters, I don’t have to maintain a grass or split any sod.
There is a landscaping crew that takes care of the entire house complex. I also don’t have to haul my trash off. There is a giant dumpster at the back of the complex that I drive my trash to. From there, a trash supplier will take the trash off to the landfill. While these are enjoyable things, there are some aspects of living in an house that aren’t so great. The largest pitfall is the fact that I don’t own the apartment, but every month, I pay hundreds of dollars to live here and I’ll never get that cash back like I would if I was making a mortgage payment. The second downfall is that I can’t control the Heating, Ventilation and A/C service. The house complex is responsible for hiring Heating, Ventilation and A/C servicemans to come repair the Heating, Ventilation and A/C component for each building. I can control the temperature of my house with my private temperature control, even though I can’t control how efficiently it runs. Whenever I believe the air filter needs replaced or I find that my utility bill is higher than normal, I have to put in a request to have my Heating, Ventilation and A/C machine inspected. Sometimes, it takes weeks to hear back from the management supplier. I can’t repair the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system myself either, because a lot of the component is on the roof. I can’t wait until I can own my own house one day and control how often the Heating, Ventilation and A/C component gets inspected.
