Living In an Apartment Gives Me No Control Over Heating, Ventilation and A/C Servicing

There are a lot of benefits to renting an home rather than owning a home.

For starters, I don’t have to maintain a shrubbery or chop any turf.

There is a landscaping crew that takes care of the entire home complex. I also don’t have to haul my trash off. There is a sizable dumpster at the back of the complex that I drive my trash to. From there, a trash supplier will take the trash off to the landfill. While these are great things, there are some aspects of living in an home that aren’t so great. The biggest pitfall is the fact that I don’t own the apartment, however every month, I pay hundreds of dollars to live here and I’ll never get that money back like I would if I was making a mortgage payment. The second downfall is that I can’t control the Heating, Ventilation and A/C service. The home complex is responsible for hiring Heating, Ventilation and A/C workers to come service the Heating, Ventilation and A/C equipment for each building. I can control the temperature of my home with my private control unit, but I can’t control how efficiently it runs. Whenever I think the air filter needs updated or I find that my utility bill is higher than normal, I have to put in a request to have my Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit ran tests on. Sometimes, it takes weeks to hear back from the management supplier. I can’t service the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system myself either, because a lot of the equipment is on the roof. I can’t wait until I can own my own house one afternoon and control how often the Heating, Ventilation and A/C equipment gets ran tests on.
