My brother and I are very different.
He is the sort of person who prefers to do things for himself and he rarely hires experts for any job.
This is a habit he adopted from our grandpa who was the OG for repairs and replacements. I remember when we’d go to visit grandma and grandpa as kids, they always had a project going on. Grandpa would be busy fixing the car, the tractor, or the barn. He even did all the fencing around the farm, and we were so happy to help. I guess my grandpa and my brother are quite similar, and they even look alike. He adopted some of these traits and is always busy around his house fixing stuff. If I happen to mention I want to contact a plumber to come do some work in my house, I’ll see him at my door ready to tackle the issue. This has been going on for years, but there are some things I never let him touch. These are jobs better left to the professionals so they can be done in the right way. For instance, last spring I had to get a new roof installed in my house. This was a long overdue project that I had been saving for so I wanted the roofing installation done the right way. I contacted a HVAC company in my area after reading good reviews about them, and they sent roofing contractors to begin the roofing removal process. After that, it took them several more days to do roofing installation, and I was so happy with the results. My brother was livid when I finally told him I hired the roofing company for the job.
