I have been an HVAC professional for ten years and have loved every minute.
The best part about my job is when I get to meet amazing customers that change my life. I love people, and meeting new people is always the highlight of my day. I once met a group of special kids that changed my life and outlook. The school called the heating company and booked an appointment with the heating technicians to fix the furnace. We arrived at the school on Friday morning before the kids. We went straight to work assessing the heating equipment. As is the norm, we divided ourselves into groups to tackle the complete heater maintenance project. The heating repairs took us a while because some components were out of stock at the local heating dealership, so the heating dealer had to go to a different store to buy them. By this time, the kids had arrived and were in class. These kids suffer from cognitive and motor control but are the happiest children I have seen. My colleagues had been to this school before when they did the HVAC installation a year ago. I was on leave when they fitted the heating device. The children watched and listened to nursery rhymes on the TV, and some tried singing along. They were bundled up in warm coats because we had switched off the electric heater as we worked on it. We replaced the thermostat and restored the fireplace. The kids became more lively as the warm air swept through the classrooms. Working in that school was an honor to comfort the kids and the staff.
