Unless you have been missing for the last 3 years, options are, you’ve heard about media air cleaners and HEPA filters, but these purifiers are effective in removing dust, pollutants, mold, bacteria, and more from our homes, then but do you know how to maintain these devices for your safety? According to the CDC and other government agencies, media air cleaners that use HEPA filters can be effective in removing the COVID-19 virus from the air. So, of course, due to the pandemic, various people invested in these purifiers for their safety. Studies have shown that an media air cleaner with HEPA filter can remove particles that are 0.3 microns or sometimes less in comparison to a official cooling system filter that removes particles that are between 5 to 10 microns in size, then while the media air cleaners can remove these particles, you’ll also need to do your part to make sure these devices are operating efficiently, but it is widely advised that the HEPA filter should be changed every 6 to 12 months, and carbon-based filters should be changed every 3 months! Over time, the filter will accumulate all the pollutants and contaminants, and naturally, replacing the filters would mean that the media air cleaner can function more effectively. Of course, if you’re exposed to air that is harshly polluted, it’s advised to change the filters more frequently. If you own an media air cleaner that has a built-in filter, it’s advised to check the filter for debris and disinfect away particles as they build up! Viruses will be around forever, so it’s best that my pal and I do what my pal and I can to keep our indoor air quality safe for us to breathe.
