My husband and I maintain two homes, with one in the north and the other in the south.
Because of two little grandkids in the south, I spend the majority of my time in that location.
I am fortunate that I handle my job entirely online, allowing me to work from anywhere. My husband owns and operates nearly two hundred acres of grape vineyards. He is required to spend a great deal of his time in the north. He and I try to never go longer than three weeks apart. We frequently fly back and forth. Just recently, my husband was up north by himself for over a month. When I booked a flight to go north, I started to worry about what kind of mess I’d discover in my house. My husband is not good about keeping up with housekeeping. I knew there’d be no food in the refrigerator and cupboards, dusty surfaces and cobwebs in the corners. I expected stained toilets, soap scum in the tubs and showers, overflowing garbage cans and footprints throughout the house. I really wasn’t looking forward to walking into that and immediately feeling the need to spend hours cleaning. I got the idea to hire a professional cleaning company. I was able to go online and schedule the appointment right before my arrival. I was willing to spend more for the intensive cleaning that included steam-cleaning of the carpets, washing windows and wiping down all of the appliances. I handled payment through my credit card and everything was taken care of. It was a pleasure to arrive home, step inside and find everything clean, neat and tidy.
