I knew that I was just delaying the inevitable, but it was hard not to. The heating and air conditioning system needed to have a tune up before the winter. Last year when I didn’t get heating and A/C maintenance, our heating unit shut down in the middle of winter. Since the temperatures outside were below freezing, my wife and I had to call for emergency HVAC service just to prevent our home from becoming just as cold as it was outside. Obviously we didn’t want to end up in that situation again, but even though I know it is necessary, I still find it hard to call for heating and A/C maintenance. It just feels like it will be a waste of money since I know the heating device will work this time. When my wife asked why I hadn’t called the A/C business yet, I explained my reasoning. My wife told me that our indoor comfort is not a waste of money, and that it was best to be on the safe side. Sure, maybe our heating unit could make it through the winter just fine, but what if it couldn’t? Did we really want a repeat of last year? Besides, you can’t really call a house a home if you’re not even comfortable living there. I guess she was right, and so I got up and scheduled the appointment with the local heating and cooling dealer. After the appointment was scheduled, I didn’t have to worry about it anymore.
