Trying to explain to my grandma the need for an intelligent temperature regulator was futile.
Nana could not understand why she needed to replace something that was working, but I told her how a thermostat could positively impact her indoor comfort by controlling her home’s temperature, air quality, and humidity. We were also looking at peculiar A/C equipment to replace the aged heater. After her declining or having something negative to say about every unit we looked at, I finally realized that she did not want a replacement. I insisted on it since her system had a poor air purification system, and she had developed some minor respiratory health concerns. We had bought her a new air purification gadget, but it felt necessary to replace the entire system. After minutes of going through the whole process, she was still adamant that her HVAC was okay. I advocated that we call the home repair that professionally deals with indoor air quality systems so that they could repair the unit. The duct cleaning was our main concern, and I was sure that duct sealing was inevitable, given how aged the entire system was. I also wanted them to replace the air filter. True to my words, when the A/C professional checked the unit, she told us it needed repair. I pitched the idea of a smart A/C to the expert, and she liked the idea, but the serviceman advocated that we start by installing a whole-home air purification first. The HVAC contractor installed the system and told us we could rest straight-forward where air purification was anxious! When I told our grandma about the intelligence system, she appreciated the idea, and we decided to make it our next project.
