Sometimes I amaze myself with how stupid I am.
I am supposed to be an intelligent person on paper. I am a peer reviewed scientist and I currently instruct college courses. However… The reality is that I make a lot of terrible mistakes throughout my life, like any other human being. One of the things that I regularly make a mess of is my heating, cooling, and air quality control system. I tried to be extremely responsible and efficient while using my indoor air quality control equipment, however I definitely make a lot of Errors. For instance, I regularly forget to adjust my thermostat program before I go out of town. Then to my AC unit or heating system is operating for no reason. I sometimes forget to regularly change my air filters for the air conditioner or forced air furnace. This makes my entire heating, cooling, and air quality control system acquire additional wear and tear as the Energy Efficiency decreases. And, apparently I also can forget to change the batteries in my thermostat. This can result in calling out the heating, cooling, and air quality control repair shop for no good reason. I say this, because last week I thought that my heating and cooling system was broken. I couldn’t get either HVAC component to respond to my thermostat fiddling. When the professional HVAC repair technician arrived, though, he promptly discovered that my thermostat needed a new AA battery. Otherwise my heating and AC were fine. “Why didn’t I notice the blank thermostat screen?” he asked. That was a moment when I did not want to admit, I’m supposed to be a smart person.
