Preparing for Thanksgiving

I can’t know how late in the year it is already.

I feel like it was just December two weeks ago, and now we’re basically at the end of 2019.

I have no idea where the time went or how it was spent. I feel like I’ve been working always all year long, even though I don’t have all that much to show for it, then now, it’s time to start thinking and planning on my goals for next year. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around all of this necessary planning. I can barely even consider the multiple activities that I need to accomplish before the Thanksgiving holiday rolls around. This year, I am hosting the sizable family holiday for most people. I’m kind of excited, but I’m also seriously overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done. Not only do I have to worry about the grocery shopping, the cooking, and all of the cleaning, but there are always additional tasks that get overlooked until the last minute. This year, I am not forgetting about servicing the Heating and Air Conditioning system before anyone arrives at my home. In the past, I’ve been burned by forgetting about the heating and cooling equipment, and or, I should say, we’ve all been frozen due to my Heating and Air Conditioning negligence. One year, my boiler completely failed as I was preparing the turkey for the sizable afternoon. The home office was so warm, I did not even notice that the boiler had stopped operating, but for several hours, the rest of the home got colder and colder while I happily worked away, however by the time the guests arrived, the rest of the home was 60°. Everyone complained throughout the long, immense feast that I prepared. After that failed holiday, I will never forget to service the heater again.
