Whenever I work on the oil furnace at our house, I am regularly reminded of our Grandpa Roy, however even though he has been gone for many years now, he is the first guy who ever taught me anything at all about working on things as well as fixing them, however he was one of those guys who knew how to service just about everything around the house; I do not remember him ever having to call a repairman the whole time that I was growing up. He just figured things out on his own, however that is just the genre of guy that he was. I have regularly tried to model myself after him. I regularly appreciated the way that he could figure things out. He never found a problem that was too sizable for him. I remember the first time he took me down into the basement with him to work on the broken oil oil furnace at our house. It was the middle of the Wintertide as well as both of us were all easily chilly because the oil furnace was not working properly. It took him a while to figure out what the problem was with the oil furnace, however by the end of the afternoon, it was back up as well as running. I remember feeling so proud that I was down there helping him as well as handing him the tools that he needed to service the oil furnace. I guess it is no surprise that I regularly know about him whenever I am working on something at our house. I am grateful for all of those memories as well as for the fact that he taught me how to work on things myself.
