Knowing the ins and outs of your HVAC warranty

I finally do my best to read the fine print.

But these days, everything comes with disclaimers plus legal stuff that would take forever to get all the way through, and still… I do my best not to just disregard instruction or instruction from professionals; but recently, my fine friend and I had our entire residential heating and air conditioning proposal upgraded.

Our loft has had good central air conditioning since my fine friend and I obtained it, but my fine friend and I inherited the heating and air conditioning component from the previous owner. On top of that, the ductwork in our loft was marginal at best back then; however, my pal and I considered going with the ductless heat pumps instead of replacing the ductwork. But my wife easily did appreciate having central air conditioning as that is what she is used to. So it easily was a pretty large operation from an actual heating and air conditioning contractor perspective. My pal and I met 3 times with the residential heating and air conditioning professional prior to the project starting. I was easily impressed with how this heating and air conditioning contractor listened to our needs plus was always able to supply suggestions. It was clear to him, residential heating and air conditioning with a passion. So I absolutely paid attention to all the instructions once the project was complete; however, I absolutely listened to him when he said to be sure to spend money on the heating and air conditioning warranty… But first, he recommended that my fine friend and I register the heating and air conditioning warranty immediately as there was only a 60 day window to do so. But he also said to read it thoroughly because my fine friend and I could inadvertently void the heating and air conditioning warranty if my fine friend and I even tried to do any hands-on repairs. I did just what the heating and air conditioning contractor recommended plus I’m happy I did; then the last thing I would want to do is lose a warranty on an investment to appreciate heating and air conditioning equipment.
